Day 1:

Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux / Grande-Rivière Château

Approximately 9 km

Overnight stays are available at Ferme Léonie, La Pause Logis, or Le Champ de Mars campground.

You’ll head south through pastures and woods toward the hamlet of Les Jeannez,

You’ll then come to a trail leading into the forest and descend until you reach the hamlet of l’Abbaye in Grandvaux and its magnificent lake.

You can then stay at the Hôtel Lou Granva, the Hôtel de l’Abbaye, or you can continue climbing to Les Cernois to reach its mountain lodge, where you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the Jura Mountains.

Day 2:

Grande-Rivière Château / Nanchez

Approximately 15 km

Start the day by admiring the view from the Belvédère du Moulin, which, at an altitude of 1,000 meters, offers a panoramic view of the entire lake and its surroundings.

You’ll then reach the Pr%E9 Basset sound site, where you can have fun playing with the echo or simply listen closely to the birdsong.

From there, the trail leads to another lookout point, the Vierge d’Ecuvet, offering a view of the small hamlet of Château des Prés and the Jura Mountains. Once you’ve had your fill of this scenery, you’ll head down toward the center, passing charming little streams along the way and crossing a forest.

As soon as you arrive in the village, head for the day’s final challenge: the Duchet lookout point, which offers a lovely view of the Prénovel-Les Piards valley.

On the way back down, you can also extend your hike by exploring the Nanchez peat bogNanchez, a marked trail that will introduce you to the flora and fauna thriving in this wetland environment, before returning to your lodging in the town of Nanchez.

Day 3:

Nanchez / La Chaux-du-Dombief

Approximately 24 km

To start the day, you’ll head toward the Maguenay lookout, which offers a magnificent view of Lake Bonlieu surrounded by its dense forest.

Then cross the forest to end the day on a high note with the Sentier des Cairns, the Pic de l’Aigle, and the Belvédère des 4 Lacs—two of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Jura.

Back in the village center, take the Mobigo bus line #309 to return to Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux (Monday through Saturday), or book a taxi with Grandval Taxis.
