The hike

Starting from the village of Sewen, this 11 km hike takes you through the unspoilt countryside of the southern Vosges. The route begins on the Chemin des Cascades, a forest path running alongside a stream dotted with small waterfalls and natural basins, in a shady and refreshing setting, to arrive at the Wagenstal waterfall.

The climb then continues through forests, before reaching the Grand Langenberg farmhouse inn. The trail continues, alternating between pastures and woods, to reach the Fluhr inn, then the Wissgrut farm inn, nestled in a remarkable pastoral setting. These 3 establishments serve local dishes and are ideal for a gourmet break or simply to recharge your batteries.

Along the way, several viewpoints offer spectacular views of the Alsatian valleys, Vosges ridges and surrounding peaks. This is an ideal hike for nature lovers, those seeking peace and quiet, and those looking for a gastronomic experience, combining moderate effort, varied landscapes and the pleasures of mountain inns.

Detailed hiking maps and information on accommodation and restaurants are available from the Office de Tourisme de la Vallée de la Doller et du Soultzbach.
